Lord, thank You for my friends who throughout
these years have provided me with support,
the gifts of laughter and comfort, their time
and their presence. Strengthen our rapport
with Your own friendship with us, and while I'm
treading straight or rugged paths, keep us one
at least in spirit. Guide me in reciprocating their
love and care. Please bless our human mouths
so we speak no evil of one another; our eyes
so we see the goodness in each other; our hearts
so the hurts along the way we patiently bear.
Bless the moments we share, of tears and fun.
Finally, Lord, I pray for those who live without
friends. May they find friendships that never die.
